Comic Con was a huge success today for the Twilight movie, with thousands of fans lining up for nearly a mile to catch a glimpse of their favorite author and the cast of the movie.
Via MTV.com:
SAN DIEGO — “Twilight” just rocked Hall H at Comic-Con, and MTV News was backstage as the film’s cast and crew nervously prepared to meet the crowd of 6,500 fans who could only be descried as thundering.
After cheering for the logo, the crowd began chanting “Twilight! Twilight!” as Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and the others told us moments before going onstage that they had never heard anything like it. And they came with some big bombshells to drop.
Lautner came out to huge applause, followed by Cam Gigandet, Kristen Stewart and an eardrum-shattering roar for Pattinson. Author Stephenie Meyer and director Catherine Hardwicke were next, and if there was any doubt a phenomenon was in full effect, it had been erased…more

I’m sure it goes without saying that I am a huge Twilight fan. However, a bit more about me may be in order. I am a female, 26, and in college. I work as a manager for a call center, which gives me plenty of free time to read and study.
I love vampires. I’ve always been a big fan of that particular mythical creature. If I could choose any myth to be true, it would be that of the vampire.
Since that is likely never going to happen, I must appease my love of the fanged gods by immersing myself in related literature.
I have read all kinds of vampire books, and seen nearly as many vampire movies. However, none, not even my beloved Interview With a Vampire book or Queen of the Damned movie, truly grabbed my attention like Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.
It’s thanks to my 15 year old niece that I read these books at all. During a (somewhat disastrous) Thanksgiving meal, my niece was buried in a book for several hours. Upon asking her what the book was about, she explained that it was a wonderful vampire book, a love story, and was simply amazing.
A couple of weeks later I tracked down Twilight in the young adult section of my local library. I was a little embarrassed to be reading a “young adult” book, being 26 and all. However, I decided to give it a try. After the first few chapters, I was addicted. I read through all three books in less than a week, then proceeded to dig up all the fan fiction and information about Stephanie that I could find.
For me, the story of Bella and Edward has all the necessary components of a wonderful love story and a fully satisfying fantasy novel.
In honor of Bella and Edward, and to help keep my excitement about the movie in check, I have decided to start a fan-site with a pseudonym I’ve been using for awhile on World of Warcraft, and as my pen-name when writing fan-fiction.
Thank you, Stephanie Meyer, for giving me a new obsession.
